The First N.E. Choice League evaluation will be on June 27th. Register today to get into the June 27th eval.
The Choice league will be expanding to two leagues. There will be the Southwest league located primarily out of the Minnesota Made Ice Center in Edina and teh Northeast League that will use the Aldrich Arena in Maplewood for the majority of it's ice.
With the expansion of the second league there will be opportunities for cross league game play during the season and for tournaments. The goal of the expansion is to make the Choice League more logistically convenient for hockey families in the north and east suburbs and communities outside the metro.
Both leagues will have the same focus on skill development that our Choice League has always achieved. The Northeast League will have both Gold and Silver Mites, plus the Squirts levels.
Minnesota Made Hockey now offers Choice League goalies a training program that is supervised by former NHL and U of M Gopher, Adam Hauser, MMH Director of Goaltending Development.
At the Silver and Bronze Mite levels, goalies are free! A $100.00 deposit is required at registration to ensure player commitment but will be refunded at the end of the completed season.
* Goalie equipment is provided if needed except for the following:
Helmets, Skates, and Breezers.
As you already know when it comes to options for the development of your child as a hockey player during the winter season there are almost no choices. Development would depend on the strength and policies of the local association.
The GOAL is to have each athlete gain as much skill development as possible in these young and most formative years.

Our recent affiliation with the AAU will allow the Choice League the opportunity to host winter tournaments for teams from all over the country. Choice League teams will also have the opportunity to compete in other AAU tournaments across the country, including The 1st Annual AAU Squirt and Mite National Championship being held here at the Minnesota Made Ice Center March of 2014.

All athletes must skate in an evaluation to determine placement into the Choice League. Because this is a program for the upper end and potential elite athletes all players must meet a certain level of play that will not slow down the team's progression throughtout the season. We are trying to greatly narrow the gap between the top and bottom skaters on the team. This will allow for the greatest level of improvement and the development by each athlete throughtout the season. Once all athletes are graded there will be a player draft to assemble teams to make sure the teams are balanced.
Players that are not selected for the league will be refunded their registration deposit. The evaluation ice times are no cost.
