Some of the highlights of the facility remodel is the 400 hp compressor system that provides the refrigeration cooling for all three rinks. Four 100 hp compressors make the Minnesota Made Ice Center one of the largest systems in the state while providing for the energy saving and state of the art heat reclaim system that provides the air tempering, dehumidification and sub-floor heating for all rinks.
The Minnesota Made Ice Center, what was once home to the Midwest Racquet Club housing eight indoor tennis courts, is now the home of two indoor NHL size hockey rinks. The existing structures, with it's clear span truss design, allowed for a very efficient and cost effective remodeling from tennis courts into two sheet of NHL size hockey rinks. An eighty foot addition was added to one of the main buildings to allow for an impressive lobby entryway and the full length sheet for ice hockey. We also have spectator seating in each of the two primary indoor rinks of 250 and 150 respectively as the primary use for all rinks will be for training and clinics.
The overall property size of 5.5 acres allows for ample parking of 200 plus cars along with our NEW third sheet of outdoor ice. With an old school feeling, our open air third sheet will be a refridgerated sheet allowing us to have outdoor ice earlier in the fall season, plus keeping the ice in longer in the spring.
